Family Mediation

Welcome to this site which I hope you will find informative and helpful. If you would like to discuss the content further please contact me.

The end of a relationship, whether by divorce or separation, is recognised as one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. At this difficult time decisions inevitably need to be made in relation to children, finances or property.

Mediation is a constructive and confidential way of helping families to resolve these difficulties by mutual agreement in a safe environment.

Professionally trained mediators have an impartial, unbiased role in enabling couples to negotiate out of court agreements based on the couple’s own decisions. Mediators help participants to identify and clarify the issues between them and to enter into frank and honest discussions to explore solutions.

The Isle of Man Family Court actively encourages the use of Mediation as a way of reaching negotiated settlement. If you make an application to Court in relation to your children the Court now requires you to state whether you have considered Mediation and if not, why not.

Mediation is non-discriminatory whether on grounds of sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability or any other factor.
